A weekend at the Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen, releasing a New Beer and saying hi to Ölfrämjandet who is visiting the Brewery & Tap Room

In this week’s Brewery Update, we say hi from Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, there’s a new IPA at the Beerbliotek Tap Room, Ölfrämjandet comes by to say hi at the brewery and we show off the new cans of A Passion for Gingers.

Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017. What a weekend 🙂

Since 2012, Mikkeller has organized and hosted a large annual beer festival, the Copenhagen Beer Celebration, which takes place each year in May. The festival mainly features small breweries from around the world, with many of them premiering new beers or small one-off batches of special beer, brewed specifically for the festival.

This year we were invited under the New Talent category, and to say the least it’s been a crazy weekend. This year Adam and Axel has been in Copenhagen serving our beer.

We also managed to bump into some friends along the way. And everyone seemed to be in good spirits 🙂

Ölfrämjandet came to say hi at the brewery.

This weekend at the Beerbliotek Tap Room we also had a visit from one of our favourite groups, the Swedish Beer Consumers Association (Svenska Ölfrämjandet in swedish). They are a non-profit organisation founded in 1985 for people interested in Beer in Sweden and is also a member of EBCU, the European Beer Consumers Union.

Their focus is to improve the situation for beer consumers in Sweden, and although they’re a passionate group of beer drinkers who has a long-term goal, to wide the understanding of beer as a quality and a cultural beverage. They’re also aiming to changed beer’s reputation as common booze with a more respectful understanding of beer as an old cultural beverage.

If you’re interested to join, then contact them, cause the Swedish Beer Consumers Association has activities all over Sweden and as a member, you will participant in the struggle for a better beer Sweden!

Tap Room Pizza anyone?

This weekend for the first time we have also started offering pizzas from our local Pizzeria Götas. There’s nine pizzas to choose from and you pay at the bar and delivery is in around 30 minutes to the Tap Room. Both Fridays and Saturdays, so you’ll never have to go hungry again while drinking beer at our Tap Room.

Crazy in the Coconut. Challenges the tastebuds.

This is the 40th different IPA we have brewed since we started. As part of our mission to brew new and exciting beers, we also experiment a lot with what an IPA really is. There’s a lot more than 40 if you include Black IPAs, Double IPAs, Triple IPAs and Session IPAs.

In the 40 we include all IPAs in the range of 5,8% to about 7,2%, which is about in the range we like to brew our regular IPAs.

Crazy in the Coconut was available at the Beerbliotek Tap Room over the weekend, and also at MBCC 2017 on the Saturday session. It will head out to the pubs early next week, so make sure you don’t miss out.

[blockquote text=”For this IPA we really wanted to challenge the tastebuds, and give you everything you’d expect from a Hoppy IPA. Fresh flavours and a light malt body, mixed with the milky sweetness you’d expect from Coconut Milk.” show_quote_icon=”yes”]

A Moment of Clarity. At Systembolaget June 1 🙂

In March when we launched this beer, it was added to the special assortment of beers at Systembolaget in Sweden. All of those cans have now been sold out, and we have placed it back into Systembolaget, but this time in the local assortment. This means you can buy the cans on the shelf at the ten closest stores to the brewery, or order them per can to your closest store.

The release date is the 1st of June, which means it’s just in time for summer. And I know we’re all hoping for a warm summer this year, so don’t miss your orders 😉

And finally…

As we mentioned last week, A Passion for Strawberry Blondes will be moving from a bottle to a can, but so will A Passion for Gingers. And hopefully soon, you’ll be able to buy them side by side at Systembolaget.

Until next week. Keep well.
