Thank you for a great GBG Beer Week 2018 – Biweekly Brewery Update.

The two brewers from Beerbliotek and Nils Oscar Brewing at the Gothenburg Beer and Whiskey Fair.

In this week’s Biweekly Brewery Update we say thank you for a great GBG Beer Week 2018, and launch four new beers.

GBG Beer Week 2018.

Thank you for coming.

And with that it’s over. The GBG Beer Week for 2018. We had eight events in total, from cheese and beer tastings, to ice cream and beer tastings. A festival, and a dog walk, where we had over 80 dogs along with their owners.

We want to say a big thank you to everyone that joined us, and see you all again next year.

What is lagom egentligen?

A new Rye Session IPA.

This past week we packaged our sixth Rye beer, and it’s a very sessionable 4,5% just in time for summer. The design fits into our standard range, and this will only be a single batch. So get it while you can. It’ll go on tap for the first time at our Brewery Tap Room this coming weekend. If you want to join in, then checkout the event on Facebook.

If you don’t know what lagom means, then here’s an exerpt from Wikipedia.

Lagom (pronounced [ˈlɑ̀ːɡɔm]) is a Swedish word meaning “just the right amount”. The Lexin Swedish-English dictionary defines lagom as “enough, sufficient, adequate, just right”. Lagom is also widely translated as “in moderation”, “in balance”, “perfect-simple”, and “suitable” (in matter of amounts).

Scorched Tundra IX.

Don’t miss this limited batch.

The past week we also packaged our collaboration with All in Brewing and Scorched Tundra. It will be available at Pustervik in Gothenburg, and especially during the Scorched Tundra event.

Scorched Tundra’s mission is to give a new generation of talented artists a unique live platform in Gothenburg and Chicago. Scorched Tundra’s billing – based on sound not stature – creates a unique aural experience for the audience. “ ZombiekrigMammoth Storm and Walk Through Firecome from very different spaces within the metal world. Showcasing them together will enhance the unique aspects of what makes these bands special. EYEHATEGOD will bring the evening together in spectacular fashion. A new venue – a perfect host – Pustervik, is the ideal setting for what will mark the next phase of Scorched Tundra in Sweden,” states organizer Alexi Front.

Hello Sweden.

Brewers in Arms II is at Bolaget.

We launched this beer at our brewery tap Room during the GBG Beer Week, as well as at the Gothenburg Beer and Whisky Festival. On the 16th it was also released at Systembolaget if you live in Sweden.

This is our second collaboration with Nils Oscar, and this time around we brewed the beer at their brewery. It’s a German Pale Ale in the Kölsch style.

New Sour.

Feeding the birds and hoping for something in return.

This past weekend we launched our sixth Sour beer from our Sockerbruket Sour Brewery. It sold out first of all fourteen beers we took to the festival with us. We tend to launch one at that festival each year.

It’s a Wild Ale, or closer to a Brett IPA, and we called it Feeding the birds and waiting for something in return. It’s got similar long crazy names like the other five, Sour Berry Quite Contrary, Don’t touch me, cause I’m eclectic, Hey you in the bushes, Perhaps Blue Ribbon & Saison Cinq Episode Un.

We’ll be releasing it to pubs and restaurants over the next few weeks, and is a keg only beer.

Hello Rotterdam.

Come and say hi.

Friday at De Bierbrigadier

”We are very pleased with this. Beerbliotek, from Gothenburg, has been one of PAPA’s favorites for a number of years. As far as he is concerned, the IPAs of this brewery are among the best in the world, and over the years the brewery has always had great recipes. One of the owners, Darryl, will be present at the store in the afternoon and evening to tell you all about the brewery and their beers. And of course, there is a tasting. We say it more often (and it is true every time): You do not want to miss it.”

And finally.

Everyone is welcome at our Brewery Tap Room.

After a busy, busy, busy week of beer, beer, beer, we thought we’d take a break, but alas, it won’t be. It seems that the thirst for Swedish Craft Beer is as big as it was last week, and the week before.

So with that, we’ll be opening the doors to our Brewery Tap Room again this weekend. Friday at 17-21 and Saturday 14-19. There’ll be ten beers available to drink on site, and three low ABV (Folköl) beers to buy as takeaway. Beers coast 35kr each, or get yourself a ten-card for 320kr.

Until next time.
