Sky Andreasson. We’re still not sure where she is from
This week we’re catching up with Sky, the one who looks after all of us and somehow manages to smooth out all the craziness while making sure things go according to plan. She is destined for good luck with a random talent of finding four-leaf clovers. In fact, she has 3 right now in her wallet.
Let’s get the big question out of the way, where are you from?
Short Answer? It’s complicated. Long Answer? Born in Australia. One parent from Australia and one from Canada, I kinda grew up in Canada too. I have another parent from Switzerland. Let’s leave it at that. And now you’re in Sweden, what brought you here? For loooove. I met my husband when I was here on holiday, at Pustervik.
How did you end up doing what you do at Beerbliotek?
I got to know the guys from Beerbliotek while pouring beers at BrewDog Göteborg. I joined the team in 2017 to take away the admin side of things from Adam and Richard who were brewing at the time. Basically doing everything the others didn’t want to do anymore. What’s your role now? Technically it’s still Administration. A big part is Human Resources too.
What got you into Craft Beer?
There were a few microbreweries on Vancouver Island where I used to live that got me into it, dating back about 10 years ago. Phillips Brewing and the Canoe Brewpub in Victoria, BC were some of the first ones that I really liked.
When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?
I’m currently painting a really awesome photo of my Swiss Grandmother and her sister. In the photo they’re laughing after trying a hookah for the first time. I’m painting that.
Final question then, when you’re not dreaming about beer, what are you dreaming about?
How to streamline urban policies.
Sky is great fun at festivals. If you meet her at one, make sure you ask about her pineapple tattoo or her hairy man jumpsuit. It might be some time before things go back to normal, but you can keep a lookout on our Facebook and Instagram for future events and festivals. For now, those of you in Sweden can visit our Brewery Tap Room to try Sky’s favourite beer Back to the middle and ’round again, our latest Red IPA.
