In the last week we launched a new Imperial Stout, to coincide with the US inauguration, there was the news about our GBG Beer Week beer, we’re looking forward to our new beers launching at Systembolaget on the 1st of February and we had a great weekend at our Tap Room meeting the locals in Gothenburg.
A Moment of Clarity
Each year a different brewery in Gothenburg is asked to brew the official beer for GBG Beer Week. The style & recipe is up to every individual brewery.
When we were asked to brew the official GBG Beer Week beer for 2017, it was like suddenly understanding something… A Moment of Clarity. How could we go wrong? We are only following in the footsteps of one of Sweden’s best ever beers.
The style is a 4,7% Session IPA. It will be released on the 16th of March at an exclusive event at the Beerbliotek Tap Room from 16-18h00. After 18h00 it will be available in pubs and restaurants. The full list of places will be released a week prior to the launch, but expect it to be the usual crowd that takes in our beer.
The following day, Friday 17 March, the beer will be available in the exclusive assortment at Systembolaget. We’re releasing 15 000 cans the first time around and the list of stores where you can get hold of it will be published, as soon as we know which ones they are.
Some Men Just Want to Watch the World Burn
Last night we had the launch of our latest Imperial Stout, aptly named ”Some Men Just Want to Watch the World Burn”. It was launched simultaneously in 9 countries, right about the same time as the US got their new president.
The ratings show that everyone seemed to enjoy the beer and we’re happy so many went out to support the cause 😉
Just the Pips on tap in Gothenburg
In 2016 the brewery staff hopped in a van and headed across the country to the Swedish capital Stockholm. Part of our trip also included hanging out with our friends at Stockholm Brewing Co. to brew a collaboration beer.
The result was a Gose with Pomegranate, called ”Just the Pips”. This weekend we had it on tap at the Tap Room, which is also the first time it’s on tap in Gothenburg. There’s a few kegs left, so if you missed out, then you still have a chance.
We Brought Beer, Meet the Brewer
On a recent trip to London, Adam, our head of Brewery Operations spent a night with the guys from ”We Brought Beer”. They have free events called ”Meet the Brewer”, where brewers come and present their beer.

Takeaways from the Brewery Tap Room
One of the great things about brewing Low ABV beers (Folköl) in Sweden, is that you can sell them directly to the public from the Brewery door. This last week, to coincide with the release of our latest Berliner, we have a mixed 4-pack for sale for only 90kr.
All of our 3,5% beers are available for sale when we have our Tap Room open every second week. To see the dates, follow the Tap Room on Facebook, or on our website.
Hello Sweden. Hello Systembolaget.
As we mentioned in our interview with Richard last week, we have very exciting plans for Systembolaget this year. A lot more new beer will be reaching the shelves of Systembolaget, and all of them will be available to order to your closest store.
On the 1st of February two new beers will be available to purchase, Sabotage, our collab with O|O Brewing, as well as Pop Corn Hop Porn, one of our favourite IPAs.
The list of stores, and all associated numbers will be published as soon as we know them.
And finally
Our latest merchandise is available in our webshop. There’s a lot of different colours, sizes in both male and female variants. They make great presents.
That’s it from this week. We’ll be back next week, so keep well.
Cheers
