Inspired by Belgian Witbier, brewed like an IPA.
Our brewers decided to mix things up, and pay homage to the misfit White IPA, a square peg in a round hole. A marriage of two distinct beer styles; the American IPA with its high hop character and the classic wheat-based Belgian Witbier, with its refreshing and spicy presence.
For this recipe, we punched up the orange peel, and pulled back on the Citra and Cascade American Noble hop profiles, to give a pronounced orange citrus flavour, and let the light, earthy and floral spiciness from the coriander through.
This is the second White IPA to add to our beer library. The first one we did was our collaboration with Moon Dog in Australia, called Modersmjölk, way back in 2017.
This beer is part of a series where our brewers pay homage to forgotten styles. Square peg, round hole pays homage to the misfit White IPA. This White IPA is the 3rd beer in the series, following on from a Red IPA and Black IPA.
