Eternal Dankness
FIRST RELEASE DATE: 2015-12-01
STYLE: IMPERIAL IPA
ALC: 9,5%
Brewed once every year for All In Beer Fest, an international beer festival started by our good friends All In Brewing, we present to you our 2019 interpretation of your Imperial Overlord.
This Imperial IPA is dangerously cosy at 9,5%, dank and pithy with lots of orange peel. A little bit of booze that accentuates the hops, and a controlled bitterness which cuts off the sweetness, leaving some Orange, Pine and Candy in the taste.
Since 2015 we’ve made it our tradition to only brew this beer for this very special beery event as we consider AIBF as our kind of world class local festival, so we felt that it deserves its own beer. We get excited for the bigger and boozier beers that Autumn brings, so we decided on a big and bold IPA for this seasonal beer. We made it hoppy as we had just brewed up our Imperial Stout, Eternal Darkness, and we really questioned what a big boozy IPA is going to be- it’s going to be dank! With it being icky, sweet and dank, and as a fun play and association with Darkness, Eternal Dankness was born!
Madison: “Adam, what’s your favourite Dankness so far?”
Adam: “This and 2017 are the best two so far. 2017 was really zesty, with all those dank and sweet parts. The malt profile of this beer is almost a replica of 2017, but the hop profile is a new blend’.
Keeping true to our brand philosophy and beliefs, each recipe gets adapted every time. For this big, dope and dank seasonal beer concept, the alcohol and malt profile kinda stay similar- ish, so it’s really about our interest in new grains and all the new hops being developed every year, then building the hops and making a combination of what we know is going to be dank, but unique for that year. This year we’ve got Amarillo in it for the first time, ‘cause Amarillo’s crop was really really nice this year. Which give more of those orange peels. We’ve tied that with Ekuanot Cryo, Mosaic Cryo and Simcoe for the more dank side of things. The expiry date is two years which means you can sometimes try three versions of this beer side-by-side.
Dankness is still the biggest IPA that we make, particularly as a returning beer, and what was popular in Sweden at the time. It really became our imperial overlord. If you love Dankness and thirsty for a similar beer, try Gentle Giant, brewed in collaboration with Collective Arts + All In Brewing.
We are Beerbliotek
A Craft Brewery founded in Gothenburg (Sweden) by four friends from different parts of the world. Our brewing philosophy is simple… keep brewing new beers that we, ourselves, would want to drink.
Our name is derived from the Latin word bibliothēca, meaning library, or a collection of books. A Beerbliotek, for us, would then mean a beer library, or a collection of beer.
