Beer Release #05. Bobek Citra – A Very Hoppy American Pale Ale
At the brewery we just call it Bobek for short. At the start, we used to just call our beers after their ingredients. In this case an American Pale Ale with the addition of Styrian Bobek Hops from Slovenia and Citra Hops from the US.
Bobek hops are delicate, spicy aroma hop, similar to Styrian Golding, whereas Citra hops has citrus (grapefruit) and tropical fruit characters.
Our longest selling American Pale Ale (APA). Bobek Citra has a very aromatic hop taste with a clear bitterness, there’s some hints of grapefruit, pine, pineapple and spices.
On the label
For this Pale Ale we use Styrian Bobek Hops from Slovenia and Citra Hops from the US. This combines the gentle citrus tones of European noble hops with the more in your face aromas of US high alpha Hops.

Bobek Citra APA is one of our first beers to move from a bottle to a can.
